Youth Softball

The Department of Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Washington Nationals host softball clinics to introduce the game to children in Prince George’s County. The clinics are hosted by local high school team coaches and players. Participants are given great prizes at the end of the clinic.

The Department of Parks and Recreation supports youth league play through the Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club. Find a team for your child at www.pgcbgc.com. League play begins in April and registration starts in March.

  • Co-Ed Baseball Divisions offered are Tee Ball (5-6) & Machine Pitch (7-9)
  • Softball Divisions are offered for Minor (10-11) and Major League (11-12)

For the older ages, The Department of Parks and Recreation is an official MLB/RBI League. MLB/RBI is a Major League Baseball initiative developed to “Revive Baseball in Inner Cities”.  The Summer Fast-Pitch Softball league is competed in ages 13-18. League play begins in May and registration starts in April. The league will be competed as Wednesday night doubleheaders. We are always looking for volunteer coaches to help provide teams for these players to participate. All-Stars from this league will be selected to represent Prince George’s County in the MLB/RBI Mid-Atlantic Regional in Late July. Prince George’s County RBI has a rich history of participation and hope to continue to grow the program.
