Civil War Soldiers: Discovering
the Men of the 25th U.S. Colored Troops - An Exhibition
After viewing an antique photo album of Black soldiers from the Civil War, artist Shayne Davidson researched, created a family tree, wrote a biography, and drew life-size, colored-pencil portraits of each man. On display at Montpelier Historic Site now through March 11
from 11 am - 4 pm (closed Wednesdays). FREE with regular tour admission.

In a Timely Fashion: 19th-Century Clocks in America
In the 19th century, clocks were just becoming common in households. Explore the history of timekeeping in this exhibit at Riversdale House Museum featuring clocks from members of the D.C. chapter of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. Fridays & Sundays, March 11-June 30 from 12:15-3:15 pm. Regular tour admission.

The Idea of Women: Women Inventors' Tea & Program
Join Marietta House Museum for tea as we discuss the brilliant ideas of trailblazing women. Anna, Duchess of Bedford, is credited with starting "Afternoon Tea;" Marie Curie, the theory of radioactivity; Maria Beasley, the life raft; Mary Anderson with windshield wipers; and, Shirley Jackson, telecommunications.
