Tours of the MansionMontpelier Mansion is open to the public for tours, programs and shopping.
Self-Guided ToursTour booklet gives history of house and Snowden family, and directs you through the house.
Year around, Thursday through Tuesday, any time between 11 am and 3 pm. Closed Wednesdays.
Docent Guided Tours*Sundays, March through November, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm*
Trained docents lead tours through the house, highlighting original Snowden artifacts, social history of 18th and 19th century Maryland, architectural details, and other information.
*Please note that sometimes our volunteer docents may have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. If there is no docent available for the Sunday guided tours, visitors can take a self-guided tour at no cost.

Evening Holiday Candlelight Tours
See Montpelier decorated and lit by candlelight. Docents in the rooms tell you about the house and Christmas traditions of old. Musical entertainmnet provided by area performers. Light refreshments served.
Daytime Holiday ToursDon't like to drive at night? You can still see Montpelier dressed up for the holidays on these daytime, self-guided tours. Rooms decorated in traditional greens by local garden clubs.

Thursdays-Tuesdays, 11 am–4 pm. Closed Wednesdays.
Located in Laurel, Maryland, near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
From the D.C. or Baltimore area, take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Route 295) to Route 197 (Laurel-Bowie Road). Turn west onto Route 197. Turn left onto Muirkirk Road. Turn right into Montpelier grounds.
From Route 29, turn East onto Route 198. Cross I-95 & Route 1, turn right at the next intersection onto Route 197 (Laurel-Bowie Road). Proceed to Muirkirk Road and turn right. Turn right into the Montpelier Mansion grounds.
