Junior Academy for the Performing Arts

Discover the magic of Youth Theater with The Junior Academy for the Performing Arts (JAPA). Young performers ages 8 to 16 can join our team of rising stars, and work to create and present live theatrical productions throughout the year.

The JAPA program teaches techniques in various styles of theater with a focus on musical theater. Our instructors and guest artists are seasoned actors, singers, and dancers of the performing arts. Students will learn about these disciplines, all while experiencing the exhilaration of participating in the rehearsal process. At the end of each session, the JAPA ensemble will present a Broadway-style musical or play in a professional theater venue.

JAPA works to foster the skills of teamwork, self-confidence, and artistic expression.  Students will discover the very best of themselves and be encouraged to share their stories in their own unique way. JAPA fosters a greater understanding of the necessity of the arts and creative expression in forming healthy, happy and productive adults. Whether new to stage or a seasoned performer, all levels are welcome to join.
